About Bat Rehabilitation Ireland
Bat Rehabilitation Ireland opened in 2019 and is Ireland’s only rehabilitation facility in Ireland that is fully trained and licenced by the National Parks and Wildlife Service to ring bats that have come into human care before they are released back to the wild. Each ring is engraved with a unique number and the purpose of this is to easily identify bats in the future. These efforts are part of a long-term project studying the longevity and movement of Ireland’s bats, the first project of its kind in Ireland.
