Join us for the SSE Airtricity Sustainability Weekend at Dublin Zoo

Monday, 21 August 2017

This weekend, Dublin Zoo sees the return of SSE Airtricity’s successful Sustainability Weekend, as part of SSE Airtricity's sustainability partnership with Dublin Zoo, announced earlier this year.

Youngsters are invited to become ‘Eco Explorers’ for the weekend, completing fun tasks and activities alongside their families, learning more about the importance of sustainability through mini-worm excavations, learning how to build your own ‘Bug Hotel ‘, arts and crafts workshops including crafting your own hand-made wind turbines and free face painting.

Visitors to the SSE Airtricity Sustainability Weekend will be able to trek Dublin Zoo’s new Eco Explorer Trail, supported by the SSE Airtricity interactive Eco Explorer app. The digital app, which can be used on any tablet or smartphone, identifies nine Eco Explorer stations for parents and children to discover, teaching simple steps to living more sustainably such as making compost, recycling, and harvesting rain water. SSE Airtricity customers can avail of 15% discount of Dublin Zoo day tickets during the Sustainability Weekend when booked through SSE Reward.

SSE Airtricity customers receive discount on day passes to Dublin Zoo all year round at SSE Reward, where customers can also win once-in-a-lifetime experiences within Dublin Zoo. Encouraging children to enjoy their natural spaces and think positively about sustainability, the experiences on offer include seeing how the Asian elephants and Amur tigers start their day and learning all about the animals and their environments from the dedicated zookeeper team.
