Green tree python

Green tree python

Glasphíotόn crainn

This python lives in rainforests in New Guinea and northern Australia. Hatchlings are born yellow or brick-red in colour. They turn green after one year. Being green helps the python blend into its environment as it lies coiled up on a branch. Only its tail may be waving, as a lure to attract prey such as small mammals, birds and lizards.
